euthanized nearly 1400 dogs. Often dogs are euthanized because of problem behavior. This
is a tragedy for dogs, dog owners, and the community. A solution to this problem is to
teach dog owners how to train their dogs. Dog parks are a place for owners to train and
socialize dogs.

Who can use the dog park?
People who would
like to train and socialize their dogs. Rules must be followed. User fees will go toward
upkeep and development of the park.

Yes, in order to ensure the
health and safety of dogs and people, rules will need to be adhered to.

Owners must clean up after their pets.
No aggressive dogs allowed.
Dogs must be vaccinated.
Puppies under four months prohibited.
Spayed/neutered dogs recommended.
Owners must carry a leash at all times

All users will be responsible
for following the rules. Fairbanks Dog Park, Inc., a
group of local dog trainers and dog lovers are
willing to be a group that raises funds, monitors use and
serves as communications liaison
between the borough and dog park users.
