When you contact a breeder, ask some questions that can be verified by someone other than the breeder:
checker.gif (655 bytes)What are their registered names, registration numbers and percentages?

checker.gif (655 bytes)Do they have a copy of the pedigree on the animal, or on  each of  the puppies' parents that you have?

What is the percentage/generation of the wolfdog you are interested in?   Once you have these answers, contact the USAWA Registrar immediately. They have access to many records, not only through their own directory, but also through records kept by other associations. This is very important!

As with any domestically bred animal, there are some unscrupulous breeders who make their living by taking advantage of new unsuspecting owners. This animal will be with you for a long time, so it is imperative that you are satisfied with your new companion.
