SIGNS OF AN
IRRESPONSIBLE BREEDER
Animals are poorly
sheltered in tiny areas with unsanitary
conditions, possibly with parasitic infestations.
Animals react negatively toward
people, or are not permitted to be seen by
visitors.
Animals appear thin and lethargic
with dull coats.
The breeder lacks knowledge about
wolfdogs and is reluctant to answer questions.
Poor or no records are kept.
You can't see both parents.
The breeder seems agitated about your
checking with the USAWA concerning his
line.
Breeder has three or four
litters available at once.
Breeder asks if you will pay by cash
or check, but doesn't question
you about yourself or where his animal will
be placed.
Animals have not been wormed and no
shots have been given (ask for records).
No written guarantee is given on the
health of the animal.
Breeder has no written contract for
you.
A TIP
TO REMEMBER
The more
you know about the breed you are interested in,
the more the likelihood that you will end up with
a suitable animal that you will be happy with for
10-15 years. Do some research BEFORE you get a wolfdog puppy.
