The Bergamasco Sheepdog Club of America was founded by Donna and Stephen DeFalcis.

The Club's first priority is to preserve and give recognition to the Bergamasco in its original state of being as recognized today, and to help maintain its two thousand year old heritage as progenitor of many breeds that are known throughout Europe and the USA.

The breed's isolated geographic origination and closeness with its human partner helped to develop the Bergamasco as a thinker and a doer driving sheep from region to region as well as a flock guardian against predators.

Tempered throughout the years, the Bergamasco has developed into a unique breed with rare intelligence and an original appearance.
